Description

In 2010, the Town and Village of Rhinebeck made the Climate Smart Communities Pledge, joining 73 other New York municipalities in combating climate change by making their communities more energy efficient and working toward a sustainable future.  These local governments authorized the creation of a task force to identify the GHG emissions of both communities and to then advise them on strategies to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.

In determining how to best conserve energy and reduce emissions, the task force needs to establish an inventory of GHG emissions.   That inventory will be guided by The Climate Registry, http://www.theclimateregistry.org/, a non-profit organization that “sets consistent and transparent standards to calculate, verify and publicly report greenhouse gas emissions into a single registry.”

In conjunction with the Chair, the intern will develop and present a formal presentation to the Town & Village.
