Organization Overview/ Position Description:

The Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR) has openings for two interns in its Waste to Wealth program, based in Washington, DC. Interns will work directly with senior ILSR staff to undertake research in the areas of waste incineration, composting, biobased materials and sustainable plastics, recycling technology, new rules, reuse and repair, markets for secondary materials, and enterprise development.

Qualifications/Skills

Excellent communication and computer skills
Interest in sustainable economic development
Experience in the environmental or solid waste management, recycling, reuse or composting fields
Quantitative skills
Internet skills

Research and writing skills
