Carolina Gomez-Montoya

Biography: Carolina Gómez Montoya (B.A., Portland State University; M.A. and Ph.D. University of Maryland, College Park) is a professor of Language and Literature at BHSEC, Newark. Previously, she taught at BHSEC Queens and at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is interested in studying the practice of writing during times of violence and political repression, and the intersections between writing and displacement. She has published articles and fiction in Literal: Latin American Voices/Voces Latinoamericanas; ¡Basta! Mujeres colombianas contra la violencia de género (Bogotá: Debate escrito, 2015) and is a contributor to Letra vuelo. She lives and writes in Brooklyn, NY.Contact:
