Hilary Kaplan

Biography:
Hilary Kaplan (B.A., Yale University; M.F.A., San Francisco State University; M.A., Ph.D. candidate, Brown University) is a Ph.D. candidate in comparative literature at Brown University, where she is completing a dissertation on transnational poetry and environmental culture in the twenty-first century. She is a translator from Portuguese and her forthcoming translations include Rilke Shake by Angelica Freitas (Phoneme), for which she received a PEN Translation Fund award, and Phantoms by Paloma Vidal (AmazonCrossing). Her recent work has appeared on BBC Radio 4, in Modern Poetry in Translation, and in the volume Deslocamentos Criticos (Babel). She has taught in the Bard Prison Initiative and at Scripps College.Contact:
