Katrina Dodson

Biography: Katrina Dodson (B.A., University of California, Berkeley; Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley) is the translator from the Portuguese of The Complete Stories by Clarice Lispector, winner of the 2016 PEN Translation Prize and a Northern California Book Award for translation. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, where she has taught courses on food & literature, constructions of nature, femmes fatales, and politically engaged literature. Her dissertation, Traveling Proprieties: the Disorienting Language & Landscapes of Elizabeth Bishop in Brazil, engages with 19th- and 20th-century Brazilian and Anglo-American literature, poetics, travel narratives, gender and sexuality studies, and environmental criticism. Dodson has written for Guernica, McSweeney’s, and The Millions, and her translations have appeared in Granta, Harper’s, Lapham’s Quarterly, and elsewhere.Contact:
