Biography: Writing. Author of 9 books of poetry, including 3 installments of his ongoing poem Metropolis: Metropolis 1-15 (Sun & Moon Press, 2000), Metropolis 16-29 (Coach House Books, 2002), and Metropolis XXX: The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (Edge Books, 2004). Earlier titles include Leases (Periphery Press), among the cynics (Singing Horse Press) and Ameresque (Buck Downs Books). His most recent book, co-authored with design artist Dirk Rowntree, is titled War, the musical�this booklength poem appropriates online language to compose a �libretto� aimed at re-enacting how Americans process war through media. In another collaboration, with novelist Rodrigo Rey Rosa, Fitterman co-wrote the feature film What Sebastian Dreamt, which was selected in 2004 for the Sundance Film Festival and the Lincoln Center Film Festival-LatinBeat. Rob Fitterman has been on the faculty at New York University since 1989 in both the General Studies Program and the English Department, where he teaches creative writing. He has also taught poetry and creative writing in several other places including Bennington College and the St. Mark�s Poetry Project.Contact:
