Generally speaking the application process to schools in the health professions, particularly medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine, is one year in advance of matriculation. This means that you must have the prerequisite coursework needed to sit for the entrance exam (MCAT/DAT) by spring of the year you intend to apply. Most applicants who are in the process of completing the requirements will take the entrance exam between April-June. Others who take a gap year or more open up other test dates. The goal is to have the exam completed by the end of June the year you are applying.
