Center for Civic Engagement Presents
Censorship Forum with Matt Taibbi ’92
Friday, November 17, 2023
Olin 102
3:00 pm EST/GMT-5
Join us in welcoming Matt Taibbi ’92, Bard alumnus and recent recipient of the 2023 Dao Prize for Excellence in Investigative Journalism for his work on the Twitter Files. 3:00 pm EST/GMT-5
Matt will begin with a short presentation on the history of digital censorship (beginning with the war on terror), and why people on all sides of the political spectrum should be nervous about it. He will then open the floor for a discussion-based forum on censorship.
The event is sponsored by the Bard Observer, the Center for Civic Engagement, and the Office of Alumni/ae Affairs. Students, faculty, staff, and local community members are encouraged to join us in Room 102 of the Olin Humanities Building at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 17. Refreshments will be provided.
