Bard Office of Sustainability Presents

Red Hook Repair Cafe - Fix It Free

Bring your broken but beloved items for free fixings by volunteer coaches.
Saturday, April 26, 2025
Red Hook Community Center, 59 Fisk St, Red Hook
10:00 am – 1:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
A Repair Café is a free meeting place where people come together to repair "broken but beloved" things. We love keeping fixable things out of the landfill! We will have volunteers with repair skills ("Repair Coaches") in all kinds of fields ready to fix. Sometimes they can just provide advice, and sometimes more parts are needed than they have, but they have a good time trying!

You may find another Cafe that serves your needs here: https://www.repaircafehv.org/

If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy other amazing resources offered at the Community Center. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. The RHCC Clothes Closet will be open for donations and takings! See their website for appropriate items to donate. If you have the skills to be a repair coach, please reply to [email protected].  If you text me at 10am, I can confirm whether all coaches have arrived as planned - 845-464-8025

Red Hook residents (villages, too): don't forget that the Town has a Recycle Center for free residential recycling, composting (meat & bones, too), bulk metal and pay as you throw trash. More info (including a Bard Community Action Award student's guide on how to manage your materials in this region). We are also scheduling an e-waste day for 4/5 (to be confirmed) so if we can't fix it you can recycle it safely at that time.

For more information, call 845-464-8025, e-mail [email protected],
or visit https://www.repaircafehv.org/red-hook.

Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
