David Salle and Francine Prose will discuss the artwork and writing of Janet Malcolm in conjunction with the exhibition Janet Malcolm: Critical Collage at Stevenson Library. David Salle, the subject of Malcolm’s 1994 New Yorker profile “Forty-One False Starts,” is one of America’s most esteemed painters. He is also the author of How to See: Looking, Talking, and Thinking About Art . Distinguished Writer in Residence at Bard Francine Prose is the author of numerous books of fiction and nonfiction, including Reading Like a Writer and The Lives of the Muses: Nine Women and the Artists They Inspired .
