In today’s rapidly evolving world, the practical application of research is more crucial than ever. Yet, we often undervalue student potential as a driving force in bridging academic knowledge and real-world practice. Organized by Tian Shan Policy Center and Social Sciences Division, American University of Central Asia, with the Graduate Geneva Institute, this hybrid seminar is dedicated to exploring applied research practices under joint mentorship, aiming to strengthen the connections between the university, students, applied research, and stakeholders. The goal of the event is to reimagine the role of students—not just as learners, but as partners, innovators, and catalysts for change.
Key Themes Include:
• Students as Innovators in Applied Research: Highlighting how students contribute significantly to research that addresses real-world challenges.
• Joint Mentorship in Applied Research: Exploring how collaborative mentorship enhances student development and research outcomes.
• Internships and Practical Experiences: Providing opportunities for students to engage directly with stakeholders through meaningful internships.
• Sustainable Collaboration Systems: Building long-term partnerships involving students, universities, and stakeholders in ongoing applied research projects.
Who Should Attend:
• University faculty and researchers
• Students interested in applied research and internships
• Industry professionals and community stakeholders
• Anyone passionate about enhancing the practical impact of research and student engagement
