Bard Abroad is excited to invite students to the We Represent 2021 Virtual International Exchange Conference which will include a panel featuring Bard-CEU and BGIA alumna, Getzamany Correa '20!Click here to learn more and register for the We Represent Conference
About the We Represent Conference:
Study abroad has historically been seen as only available to white upper-middle- and upper-class students; others are the exception and not the norm. We Represent addresses this challenge by focusing on racial and ethnic minority students, low-income students, students with disabilities, members of the LGBTQI+ community, and community college students and providing them with the encouragement of relatable role-models in pursuing exchange programs.
During this conference, student attendees and staff members will gain the knowledge that Government-sponsored exchange programs exist, acquire information on exchange programs and accessible application tips, and make a connection between advisors, alumni, and students. After the conference, each institution will have: an enhanced capacity to support applicants; an exchange- interested community including faculty, staff, alumni, and students to serve as a resource for future applicants; and the connections and framework to hold similar informational events in the future.
Note: this conference is not run by the U.S. State Department.
