Abolition/Resistance: Bard’s Stevenson Library Displays Works on Slavery and Oppression from the Alan Sussman Collection
The exhibition includes first editions of the Narratives of Douglass, Ball, and Equiano, Jefferson’s Notes on Virginia, and images from William Still’s Underground Rail Road, together with works by abolitionists Harriet Beecher Stowe and Angelina Grimké and leaders of the Black Power movement, including Eldridge Cleaver, Amiri Baraka, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. Curated by Kristin Waters '73.
