Bard Community Celebrates Seniors with Car Parade through Campus, Surrounding Towns
On Saturday, May 16, members of the Bard community came out to celebrate the graduating seniors with a car parade. Revelers gathered at the Fisher Center at 3:00, driving past Manor and Robbins and down Annandale Road, with President Botstein leading the way. They continued through Red Hook and Tivoli, passing by the homes of members of the Class of 2020 who are still in the local area. Staff, faculty, fellow students, families, and friends—including the Red Hook Police, Red Hook Fire Department, and Tivoli Fire Department—festooned their cars with banners, honking and playing music as they went. They dotted the parade route in singles and small groups, cheering and shouting to celebrate the 445 graduating seniors who have completed their coursework and Senior Projects in the midst of the pandemic.
