Bard President Leon Botstein to Give Preconcert Talk at Music Mountain Festival
On Sunday, August 27, Bard President Leon Botstein will give a preconcert talk as part of the Music Mountain Festival in Lakeville, Connecticut. This year Music Mountain’s 94th Summer Music Festival celebrates Home and Belonging, exploring throughout 16 consecutive weekend concerts how composers bring home into their music: both the music and sounds that surround them and the folk music and culture of their homeland. The great but frequently misunderstood British composer Vaughan Williams, who was the featured composer of this year’s Bard Music Festival and is on the program of Music Mountain’s August 27 concert, will surely be part of the conversation. This talk is free and open to the public.
