Carla Perez-Gallardo ’10, Coowner and Chef of Lil’ Deb’s Oasis, Receives Third and Fourth James Beard Award Nominations

Founded in 2016 by Carla Perez-Gallardo ’10 and Hannah Black, Lil’ Deb’s Oasis in Hudson, New York, can’t fly under the radar anymore—if it ever could. Now up for its third and fourth James Beard Award nominations, this “brightly decorated Hudson restaurant with Latin flair and a dedication to social causes” is the only restaurant in the Capitol region to be nominated this year. In its original review of Lil’ Deb’s Oasis, the Times Union praised Perez-Gallardo’s “merger of food and art,” calling the experience “a multisensory campaign.”
