Sunday night was a big one for Bard at the Tonys.
Oklahoma!, which started its revival at Bard SummerScape in 2015 and has roots in a 2007 student staging, won best musical revival. This marks the first competitive Tony win for the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic. Ali Stroker won best featured actress in a musical, and became the first wheelchair user to win a Tony. “This award is for every kid who is watching tonight who has a disability, who has a limitation or a challenge, who has been waiting to see themselves represented in this arena,” Ms. Stroker said. “You are.”
