George I. Alden Trust Supports Stevenson Library Upgrades

Bard College has been awarded a $175,000 grant from the George I. Alden Trust to upgrade equipment and furnishings for the Charles P. Stevenson Library. These upgrades will enhance the library’s capacity to support student success through the creation of spaces that are suitable to a variety of learning needs, interests, and styles, as well as connecting students to library resources and collections through improved displays and equipment. The grant will also be used to provide digitization technology to increase accessibility of library collections and to equip reference and instruction staff with better tools to provide flexible, innovative, and accessible services that support student learning and success. This grant will fund the purchase of new items including senior study carrels, tables and soft seating, monitors, laptops for mobile reference services, a microfilm reader, an overhead scanner, mobile displays, and freestanding slatwall displays.
