Letter to the Editor: Bard College Gives Hopes to Afghan Refugees

Bard College student Mujtaba Naqib writes to the Daily Freeman about the experience of fleeing Afghanistan to come to Bard. “Being a student that had to be evacuated, I was left in a position where I had no choice but to leave my studies behind for the sake of my well-being. When I arrived in the United States, my biggest concern was trying to find a university to continue my studies,” Mujtaba writes. “This is when Bard College stepped in and decided to help me and other displaced Afghan students with full scholarships. Bard has a long history of helping students who flee from persecution, and it has done so once again.”
