Fisher Center’s LUMA Theater
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Bard students present a premiere production of Daniel Fish’s Kock Fight Club, a new play based on Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, staged in the orchestra pit of the Fisher Center’s LUMA Theater. Performances are Thursday, October 16 through Sunday, October 19 at 7 p.m., with additional matinee and late night shows. Tickets are free to the Bard community and $15 to the general public. For reservations call 845-758-7900.
Performers, audience, costumes, video, and live music come together in the orchestra pit of the Fisher Center’s LUMA Theater, where Kock Fight Club unfolds beneath a giant video screen. The performance takes Shakespeare’s play and its audience into a place that’s sexy, fun, and open to chance—it’s like Halloween. Costumes provided. The program is intended for mature audiences.
Kock Fight Club is written by Daniel Fish whose previous productions at Bard include OK! (his bold take on Oklahoma!), The Elliot Smith Project, and Rocket to the Moon. Design collaborators are Kaye Voyce, Joshua Thorson and Alexis Distler, and musical collaborator is Ian Turner. Cast: Arla Jean Berman (Hippolyta), R. Alex Davis (Theseus), McCambridge Dowd-Whipple (Hermia), Nick Friedman (Egeus), Angelina Impellizzeri (Helena), Molly Marx (Demetrius), and Ashley Mayne (Lysander).
