Measles Case Confirmed on
Bard College Campus
All who have been immunized against measles and those born before 1957 are not at risk, and the student community is highly immunized due to enrollment requirements. However, since measles is highly infectious among those who have not been vaccinated, the College is sharing this information as a precaution. Students, faculty, and staff have all been alerted and the College is following health department procedures to help ensure that this one case is the only case.
Students with additional concerns should contact the Office of Student Health Services. Others with questions about measles should contact their health care provider or the New York State Department of Health for information.
Local physicians, clinics and hospitals are being alerted to watch for patients with measles symptoms.
