The New York State Writers Institute to Celebrate Bard College’s Renowned Literary Magazine Conjunctions
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – On Thursday, September 24, at 8 p.m., the prestigious New York State Writers Institute will celebrate Bard’s provocative, innovative literary journal Conjunctions with a reading by Conjunctions editor Bradford Morrow (Bard literature professor and Bard Center Fellow) and contributing editors Ann Lauterbach (Bard’s David and Ruth Schwab Professor of Languages and Literature) and Peter Straub. The reading will take place at the Recital Hall at the Performing Arts Center on the University at Albany’s uptown campus, 1400 Washington Avenue, Albany, New York. It is free and open to the public; no reservations or tickets are required. Copies of the readers’ books and of Conjunctions will be available for sale. For more information, call 845-758-7054, e-mail [email protected], or visit http://www.conjunctions.com.
For more than three decades, Conjunctions has offered a literary space in which authors can write fearlessly and audiences read dangerously. In addition to the print and e-book issues that appear every May and November, Conjunctions’ free weekly online magazine showcases one writer each week, giving the journal a place to publish the exceptional work that doesn’t fit into the theme of a given anthology, feature high-quality visual work, and delve into the exciting new field of e-writing. Conjunctions’ website also features a multimedia vault of recorded readings, unavailable elsewhere; as well as full-text selections from the anthologies and a constantly updated table of contents for its upcoming issue.
