More than a year after the World Health Organization declared the Covid-19 outbreak to be a pandemic, the U.S. and European economies face historic challenges as they begin to emerge into a post-pandemic recovery. From Wednesday, May 5–Thursday, May 6, the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College will host its 29th Annual Hyman P. Minsky Conference on the State of the U.S. and World Economies as a two-day virtual conference, featuring top policymakers, economists, and analysts. Participants in the conference, “Prospects and Challenges for the US and Europe in an Emerging Post-Pandemic Recovery,” will assess, among other issues, what’s ahead for the U.S. and European economies, prospects for reforming the financial system, economic policy for the Biden administration, financial governance and regulation, and U.S. financial market instability.
