ARE YOU PREPARED FOR Y2K? ARAM KHACHADURIAN OF RPA ADDRESSES WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE
The Regional Plan Association has been the nation's most influential independent regional planning organization for over seventy-five years. The RPA is the lead agency in the development and implementation of the Regional Y2K Task Force. The purpose of the task force is to help minimize the negative consequences of the Y2K computer bug on the economy and quality of life of the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan region through advocacy and education. The task force has been bringing together the personnel in charge of large scale operations crucial for the metropolitan region such as utilities, hospitals, and banks to help them share views on preparedness and Y2K compliance.Aram Khachadurian is vice president of program development at the Regional Plan Association, resides in Manhattan and Dutchess County. He was a banker with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company and the Royal Bank of Canada.
