BARD COLLEGE TO HOST TALK ON THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON CHINA ON MAY 6
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—On Tuesday, May 6, Bard College will host a talk by Liping He, a professor of economics at Beijing Normal University in China and Visiting Fulbright Fellow at the Columbia Business School in New York City. His talk, "The Impact of Globalization on China," is cohosted by the Bard in China and Economics Programs at Bard, with support from the Freeman Foundation. The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place in room 102 of the Olin Humanities Building from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Liping He is a professor of economics and head of the Department of Finance at the School of Economics, Beijing Normal University. He is also a senior research fellow, National Economic Research Institute, China Reform Foundation; senior consultant, China State Economic Information Center; and senior research fellow, The China Center of Financial Research, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (Chengdu, Sichuan). He has a Ph.D in economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London; M.A.degrees from Magdalene College, University of Cambridge, and the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing; and a B.A. from Sichuan Institute of Finance and Economics (now Southwestern University of Finance and Economics).
