The Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College presents the thesis exhibition "the warm weather is holding," from July 11 to 22 at the UBS/Bard College Exhibition Center in Red Hook, NY (7401 South Broadway). The opening reception is on Sunday, July 11, from 2 to 5 p.m.; gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. On Monday, July 12; Tuesday, July 13; Thursday, July 15; and Tuesday, July 20, there will be music, writing, and film/video presentations in the multipurpose room of the Bertelsmann Campus Center on the Bard College Campus beginning at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a writing presentation on Thursday, July 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Weis Cinema of the Bertelsmann Campus Center and a music/sound presentation on Tuesday, July 20, at 7:00 p.m. in Bard Hall. The students in the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts have spent three intensive summers-in-residence at Bard, where they have worked with faculty composed of leading artists in their respective fields of painting, writing, photography, sculpture, film and video, and music. During the winter months, the students continued to work on independent projects related to their field of study. The MFA program at Bard College is the only terminal-degree studio program that offers students the opportunity to receive cross-disciplinary feedback about their work, receiving a broader and deeper response from a community of artists, rather than the departmental approach that traditional MFA programs favor. All events are free and open to the public. For further information, contact [email protected] or call 845-758-7481.Recent Press Releases:
