The Institute is affiliated with the Elderhostel Institute Network and offers noncredit, noncompetitive courses taught by volunteers on the Bard College campus. Classes are held during the spring and fall semesters and a January minisession. Special events include speakers programs, cultural trips, and moderated panels. In addition to study and discussion, members are encouraged to participate actively in all aspects of the operation of the Institute.
