Biography:
B.F.A., Rhode Island School of Design. Fulbright Scholarship, Paris (1961–62). Grant-in-aid graduate work, Stanford University (1962–63). Guggenheim Fellowship (1972); Academy of Arts and Letters Award (1973); National Endowment for the Arts grant (1983). Solo exhibitions include Paley & Lowe Gallery, Nancy Hoffman Gallery, Fischbach Gallery, Willard Gallery, New York; Henri Gallery, Washington, D.C.; Thomas Segal Gallery, Boston; Folker Skulima Gallery, Berlin; group shows at Whitney Museum of American Art; Albany Museum of Art; Worcester Art Museum; Colgate University; University of North Carolina; among others. (1966–95) Professor Emeritus of Studio Arts.
