Friday, October 13, 2023 Fully Funded Opportunities to Learn a Language Abroad!
Critical Language Scholarship Zoom Info Session with Trish Fleming Online Event 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT/GMT-4 Are you a US citizen or national and are studying (or would like to study) one of the following languages?Arabic, Azerbaijani, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu Consider applying for the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program for Summer 2024! Even graduating seniors are eligible!! The CLS Program is an intensive, fully-funded, overseas language and cultural immersion program for U.S. citizens/nationals to work towards fluency in less-commonly studied languages. Students spend eight to ten weeks abroad on fully funded programs studying one of 13 critical languages. The program includes intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains. Some programs require that you have studied that language previously, but many do not. Full information about CLS, from eligibility to full program info for each site, is available HERE. Their visit reinforces campus partnerships between Bard College Berlin, Universidad de Los Andes, Al Quds Bard College, and the Open Society University Network of which all are apart. Workshops for faculty, staff, and students will be announced and our guests will be at the Civic Engagement Pathways event on April 26 from 2:30–4:00 pm for a meet and greet with any who are interested! Their visit is sponsored by a travel grant through the OSUN Civic Engagement Initiative to support, expand and deepen intuitional partnerships and civic engagement collaborations across the network. |
